Interactive Content Blossoming From the Floor

In the hallway of Incheon Hanbyeol Elementary School, an interactive floor screen—enhanced by screen paint technology—engages students’ imagination, creativity, and teamwork through playful learning experiences.

How can we transform a wide, ordinary elementary school hallway into a special place?

  • You could repaint the walls, add murals, or display students’ art to beautify the space.

  • You might place chairs to create a relaxing spot where friends can talk and rest.

There are countless ways to reshape an environment, depending on its characteristics and the intended purpose.

Yet, budget constraints loom large…

While we’d love to gift children with inspiring spaces, it’s rarely possible to exceed financial limitations. PaintPam’s mission is to help clients achieve maximum value within a limited budget, implementing only the most necessary features and screens.

Incheon Hanbyeol Elementary School needed a space that fosters creativity, fun, and teamwork within a modest budget. Often, schools on tight budgets turn to basic stand-alone monitors or low-cost projectors, resulting in unnoticed visuals replaying endlessly in a forgotten corner of the hallway.

A Unique Space Without Screen Paint

To cut costs, PaintPam boldly chose not to use screen paint in this project. Instead, we carefully analyzed the ambient light and conditions to find the ideal spot for a single projection that would deliver maximum impact.

By projecting onto the floor rather than the wall, we minimized safety and hygiene issues—no risk of children hitting the wall—and introduced interactive content designed to spark their imagination, excitement, and cooperative spirit.

Projecting directly onto the floor without screen paint created a dynamic effect, as if sparks were flying up from beneath their feet. (Of course, using screen paint would provide even deeper contrast and sharper visuals, but this solution perfectly suited the given constraints.)

It’s rewarding to see children rush in during breaks to enjoy the content together.

A space doesn’t need opulence or massive scale to convey value. What truly matters is understanding the users—in this case, young students—and considering what the space should mean to them.

Drawing on a deep understanding of projectors and the versatility of screen paint (even when we choose not to use it), PaintPam continually explores unorthodox solutions to meet clients’ goals. In doing so, we create meaningful educational environments that deliver real value, even within tight financial limits.

Ultimately, even with limited budgets, creativity and a genuine understanding of user needs can inspire engaging, memorable experiences. The interactive content rising from the floor of Hanbyeol Elementary School’s hallway demonstrates that true innovation can flourish under constraints. PaintPam will continue to deliver meaningful solutions, regardless of the challenges at hand.
